ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Trade partners across the US. and within the Charlotte Combined Statistical Area (CCSA) are experiencing a shortage of construction workers in the construction industry due to:

  1. Experienced skilled workers aging out. Lower emphasis on trade schools.

  2. Higher construction skills training demands. (Today college debt exceeds $1.5 trillion) Charlotte is home to more than 2,500 construction firms and 35,000 + construction workers.

  3. Today's average annual construction salaries, $51,000. + with a 2.4% projected market growth (well above the national average of 1.1%).The construction industry in Charlotte continues to be positive
